The Role Of Aroma In Feng Shui

Aroma In Feng Shui
For the Feng Shui art and practice, aromatherapy is very important in order to promote health and bring our bodies’ energy in accordance and balance with nature. Feng Shui aromatherapy can help us clear our minds, unwind, rid ourselves from stress and embrace the main elements that rule this art.

Since the early years of practice, Feng Shui philosophers used aromatics to achieve their goals and derive better spiritual and mental health. Chinese were among the first who decided to use plants so as to acquire health and balance. Until today, the Feng Shui aromatherapy rules are considered to be the best way to enhance the flow of energy and make ourselves more energized and active. The basis of aromatherapy is the flower essences and extracts from plants and flowers.

The first step in Feng Shui aromatherapy is to clean the space from all clutter so you are able to allow the positive Chi to enter and stay. You should clean yourself as well, and then us the Bagua map in your space to define the directions. Aromatherapy in Feng Shui is a combination of flowers and directions. Here are the basics:

The North is related to career and success when combined with geranium. The oil that comes from the plant smells very pleasantly and has a very calming effect.

North East is related to knowledge and education and can be combined with grapefruit. The oil comes from the fruit and has a very fresh aroma of citrus.

East is associated with health and rosemary. The oil is supposed to prevent the negative energy and evil spirits.

South East is associated with wealth and bergamot. The oil comes from the fruit and is very helpful when you want to rid yourself of stress.

South is associated with happiness and longevity and its oil is carnation. The smell is floral and protects people – especially the ones who are sick.

South West is associated with romantic relationships and love and its aroma is Rose Otto. This oil is very sweet but has a penetrating essence and is supposed to enhance a feeling of well being.

West is related to children and sweet orange oil.

North West is related to trade and Ylang Ylang, the oil that comes from the Cananga tree. It is a delicate and soft aroma and is supposed to make people relax and calm down.

These essential oils need to be lit in the burner or sprayed into the four corners of the rooms, in order to remove the accumulated negative energy from the space. Five to ten drops of the oil are enough if you are spraying and three to five drops of oil to the oil burner are enough to attract positive energy.
